I'm using the Raysworks design modified for 1.16 and built underground for convenience. I've made sure there aren't any other places that the iron golems can spawn above the farm and the farm is at least 3 chunks away from any other village structures. Yet despite this, a two hour afk session yielded only 35 iron in total.

My spawning area for the golems is 16x16 and is covered at the top. The space between the doors and the wall has a direct skylight all around.
